Club statement on the cancellation of Barns Greens RFC's home match against Jersey Royals.
Unfortunately tomorrows much anticipated game against Jersey Royals has been cancelled due to the Royals being unable to raise a team.
Every avenue was explored to ensure the game could go ahead including loaning players or playing with reduced numbers but with the logistics of flying over on top or the numbers it became too difficult so the decision to forfeit the game was taken with a heavy heart.
This means that Barns Green take 40-0 home walkover win. This is no way for a team to get points and we wished we could have battled it out on the pitch however sometimes despite the best efforts on all sides it is not possible. We wish Jersey all the best and we look forward to travelling to their ground at the end of the season.
Barns Green will look towards their next fixture against Lewes on the 21st October at the Field of Dreams where we look forward to having your fantastic support.
