Barns Green RFC entered a single team in the annual charity golf tournament in aid of the Wooden Spoon who Barns Green have supported for many years with a number of fundraising events.
Bruce Mcleod, Nick Lewis, Mark Brown and Rory Yeates made up the four-ball taking on the likes of Pulborough, East Grinstead and Hove rugby clubs.
Despite a close and tense finish, BGRFC came out top by just 5 points qualifying them for the national tournament in October.
Not only did they compete in the tournament, but Barns Green also handed over a cheque worth £2000 to the Wooden Spoon. These were funds raised at the annual Si Viney Tag Tournament which was held earlier this year.
The relationship between Barns Green and the Wooden Spoon has always been a strong one and we look forward to continuing our close ties to such a fantastic charity.
