The Richard Barrett Endeavour Award is a new award in honour of founding member Richie Barrett who sadly passed away in 2022. It is given to a member of the club who has continuously pushed the club forward, promoted it and the sport to a wider community or has gone above and beyond in the name of Barns Green RFC.
Upon presenting the award, Matthew Barrett said 'As a family, we wanted to give a trophy to Barns Green Rugby Club in memory of our lovely brother Richie.'
Mike Mann was presented the award at this year's AGM by Matthew and Martin Barrett, Richies' two brothers and long-time supporters of the club.
Mike Mann hung his boots up last season but has firmly taken on the responsibility of promoting the VPs and their events, improving match day experience and helping the club with other day-to-day runnings. He is a true ambassador of the club and is never too busy to help fellow members out. All of this and more is the reason why Mike was awarded the first Richard Barrett Endeavour Award.
