Barns Green welcome Steyning as they round up the 2021/2022 season in front of their VPs.
The final game of the season is upon us as we look towards a well earned rest over the summer but there is still some business to be done for both Steyning and Barns Green by way of their 3rd encounter but the first at the Field of Dreams.
Steyning are coming into this game after a touch second half of the season. Finishing third in the Sussex 2 West, they have failed to build on their form in the Sussex 2 Premier. Having said that, they are not a team to underestimate. Their pack is strong and can dominate the break down whilst their backs are capable of scoring. They recently saw victory against Worthing in a 39 - 12 route but equally they have suffered heavy losses on the road.
Barns Green are back in their groove after their 28-12 win of Worthing last week. This will have given them a huge confidence boost after a run of three bad results against the league leaders. They are also welcoming back their props after struggling the last couple of weeks with stand ins although the players who stood up fill the role admirably.
With this being the last game of the season, both teams will be up for it. The sunshine will be out and Barns Green will be sure to want to finish in style in front of their VPs whilst Steyning will be relishing the opportunity to spoil the party at the Field of Dreams. This game could go either way and at this stage of the season and under the hot sun, fatigue will be a huge factor.
Kick off is at 3pm followed by a BBQ and live band at the club.
