About the Club

Barns Green RFC was conceived on the village cricket tour to Gloucestershire in 1991. With the Rugby World Cup taking place in the UK that year some young men convinced some old men that they should all give it a go, a speculative three games turned into a determination for regular rugby and via entry to the English Rugby Union and with much help from prominent members of Sussex RFU Barns Green now enjoys League rugby status with the First Team playing in Sussex two and the more recently created Stags playing in Sussex Three.

So if you joined us what should you expect?

The opportunity to train with organised sessions under qualified coaches on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm every week from September to April. A Club desire to play better rugby to make sure that we enjoy every minute of on the pitch time balanced with a friendly village after match and training atmosphere that we think is second to none. Don't feel like training? Don't worry there still space for you to tell us how great you were as you lace up your boots, we love that, that's actually how we started back in Gloustershire, there is plenty of room for your experience, 5 of our founder members still grace the pitch, you should hear how good they used to be!

Come and give us a go - you won't be disappointed.
